Nap Lajoie Running photograph

Date1905
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie running on a dirt field. Lajoie's body position indicates that he is jogging at a relatively easy pace as the relatively close positioning of his right leg which bears the most of his weight is slightly bent at the knee and his left leg is slightly above the ground. He appears to be chewing tobacco which can be indicted with the bulge in his left cheek. Lajoie's uniform appears to be a Cleveland Naps away jersey, which has been used and dirtied based on the amount of wrinkles on the jersey and dirt on the front of the pants legs. Based on the details of the uniform, this photograph was taken most likely in 1905. This photograph was taken at an unspecified location. The background immediately surrounding Lajoie from his hips to above his head has been painted black, and there has been a little bit of shadowing added onto his pants legs. Both of these make Lajoie stand-out more.
