Nap Lajoie Throwing photograph

Datebetween 1910 and 1912
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie throws a baseball from the first basemen position. Lajoie wears an early first baseman's glove as seen with the glove's webbing design. The position of his right arm as dangling next to his body with his hand in a tight-fisted grip along with the position of his right foot as slightly off the ground with his left-plant foot firmly on the ground indicate that he is most likely warming up the infield players. In the background, there are two outfields in the distance as well as right-center bleachers interspersed with spectators. The outfield walls sport many different advertisements. The stadium has no identifiable markings. He wears a Cleveland Naps away uniform. Based on the uniform details, this photograph was taken between the 1910 and 1912 seasons.
