Mort Cooper shirt

DescriptionGray short-sleeved uniform shirt, size 44, with a partial zippered front and red piping around the sleeve edges, down the tops of the sleeve arms and around the neck and front placket. Front has two red cardinals sitting on a black baseball bat with "Cardinals" in red appliques. "Morton Cooper / 42" is embroidered in red lettering on the front proper left shirttail. Proper left side sleeve has a "Health" shield-shaped patch with three stars. Reverse of the shirt has "13" in red and black appliques. Interior back of the neck has a "Rawlings" manufacturer label sewn in along with "44 Regular" to the left.

Bio/Historical NoteSt. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mort Cooper wore this uniform shirt during the 1942 season, posting 22 wins, a 1.78 ERA and 10 shutouts en route to the National League Most Valuable Player Award.
