Cuba First Game ball

DescriptionBaseball with adhesive paper attached to the ball with inscription, "The Hero of the first game of ball in Cuba." Ball appears to be yarn wrapped around a hard, possibly rubber, core. Yarn is glued intact.
Bio/Historical NoteIn 1898, U.S. sailors used this ball to play in what they called the "first game of ball in Cuba," 34 years after baseball had actually come to the island. Ball was pitched by George Littlefield.
