DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Bob Feller taken during an evening practice in-between games. Feller smiles and squints into the distance presumably at his throwing partner while gripping the ball from his glove in the middle of his throwing motion. The image caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "SLUG (BOB FELLER) BOB FELLER BACK AT THE OLD STAND--CLEVELAND, OHIO..........THIS SMILING CLOSEUP OF BOB FELLER WAS MADE TODAY DURING A WARM-UP PRACTICE JUST AFTER HE HAD SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT TO PITCH FOR THE CLEVELAND INDIANS. FELLER WAS RELEASED FROM THE U.S. NAVY YESTERDAY AFTER SERVICE FOR FORTY-FOUR MONTHS. HE WILL PITCH IN THE OPENER AGAINST DETROIT THIS FRIDAY NIGHT. D.8.23.45."
