DescriptionA black-and-white posed photograph of Bob Feller demonstrating the three fingered hold he uses to pitch his curveball. He is looking at the baseball he holds between the 3 fingers of his right hand. Feller is wearing a baseball jacket with a large embroidered patch of an Indian in a headdress on the front (This is the logo used by the Cleveland Indians from 1929-1932. It is not the cartoon' mascot, Chief Wahoo.) Feller is also wearing a Cleveland Indians' baseball cap. An empty stadium is in the background. The caption on the back (not shown) reads: "FELLER SHOWS NEW CURVE BALL" "New Orleans, Feb. 28--Bob Feller, sensational new pitching star with the Cleveland Indians, shows how he holds the horsehide when he throws his tricky curve ball which will be served up to American League batters this year. The picture was taken the first day of spring practice for the club here." "3/1/37"
