Date1948 December 14
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph, from left to right of Connie Mack, George Weiss, Joe Cronin and Bill Veeck. Mack is captured in profile while speaking to the other gentlemen with his index finger pointed. Weiss is smiling directly at the photographer and is holding a package in his hands. Cronin has a smile on his face and is looking at Mack out of the corner of his eyes. Veeck, captured in profile, has his right hand placed on Cronin's shoulder and is smiling at Mack. All four gentlemen are dressed in suits. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Connie Mack (L), manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, give a word of advice to George Weiss, of the Yankees; Joe Cronin, Red Sox; and Bill Veeck, of Cleveland (L-R) at the American League meeting being held here in connection with the Major League convention."
