DescriptionBlack leather shoes, size 9, with black laces and long tongues. Interior undersides of the tongues have a manufacturer label. Bottom soles are leather with six metal spikes.

Bio/Historical NoteShoes worn by Buck Leonard during his career with the Washington Homestead Grays from 1934 to 1948. Leonard was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972. The first baseman spent his entire 15-year career with the Grays, the longest term of service for a player with one team in Negro league history.
