DescriptionGold uniform cap with a black bill and black "P" embroidered on the front. Top of crown has a black button. Underside of the bill is green with "21" handwritten in black marker. Interior of cap has a white sweatband with a "New Era" manufacturer label at the rear attached to the sweatband and a very worn tag on the proper right side of sweatband.
Bio/Historical NoteCap worn by Roberto Clemente of the Pittsburgh Pirates underneath his helmet when he hit his 3,000th, and final, major league hit on September 30, 1972. Three months later, Clemente died in a tragic crash of a cargo plane carrying relief supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua on December 31, 1972.
