Ray Knight World Series helmet

DescriptionBlue batting helmet, size 7 1/8, with a proper left ear protector and a team logo sticker at the front center. Top center of the bill has "Knight" in raised white lettering on blue tape. Rear center has an "ABC" logo sticker as well as "Knight" in raised white lettering on blue tape underneath. There is a white sticker on the top crown as well as four ventilation holes. Interior has a tan leather padded sweatband around the perimeter along with foam padding at the top center of crown, rear and ear protector. Interior front crown has a white and blue "American Baseball Cap" manufacturer sticker along with sizing.

Bio/Historical NoteHelmet worn by Ray Knight of the New York Mets during the 1986 World Series from October 18th to October 27th. Knight wore this helmet during Game 7 of the 1986 World Series when he hit a home run in the 7th inning to give the Mets a lead over the Boston Red Sox that they would not relinquish. Knight was later named MVP of the series.
