The caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "Philadelphia, Dec. 21. Approaches 80th birthday, Connie Mack looks grave over the future of wartime baseball. The veteran manager of the Philadelphia Athletics will be 80 years old Wednesday." According to the caption, this photograph was taken on December 21, 1942.
