A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "Old Timers Cheer Connie Mack on 75th Birthday A group of old time baseball players give a rousing cheer for Connie Mack, the grand old man of baseball and veteran manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, at his 75th birthday party, held at Shibe Park, Philadelphia, Pa., Dec. 23rd. On Mack's right is Jimmy Dykes, manager of the Chicago White Sox. Chief Bender, famous Indian pitcher of the Athletics, is shown with his fist raised. 12/23/37."
