DescriptionNew York Giants Official Scorecard, 1890. The scorecard is from a Philadelphia Athletics vs. New York Giants game played on August 9, 1890 at the Polo Grounds in New York, New York. The game was won by Philadelphia by a score of 7 to 3. The scorecard is printed with black ink and is filled out in pencil. The scorecard has advertisements for Williams' Popular Indoor Game, United States Mutual Accident Association, Allcock's Porous Plasters, and Between the Acts cigarettes. The advertisement for Williams' Popular Indoor Game includes a small portrait drawing of Buck Ewing. The front cover is printed with blue and red ink and has advertisements for Harlem and Westchester, Keefe Official Players League Ball and The Hoffman House. The back cover is printed with blue ink and has advertisements for N.Y.C. & H.R.R.R. Co., Seeley & Rappleyea, and Virgin Leaf Tobacco.
