Bob Watson One Millionth Run shoes

DescriptionBlack leather shoes, size 10, with black laces. Oversize tongues extend down over the top half of the laces and are light brown with a manufacturer label in the center. Each tongue also has punched holes beneath the labels. Tongues have "27" and "#1" handwritten in black ink. Holes have been cut into the tongues for the laces to come through. Bottom soles are leather with six metal spikes.

Bio/Historical NoteOn May 4, 1975, MLB proclaimed that Houston's Bob Watson scored big league baseball's one millionth run, though researchers later questioned the calculation. Watson wore these shoes when he tallied the celebrated run at Candlestick Park against the San Francisco Giants. The Giants won the game, 8-6.
