DescriptionNatural stain wooden bat, 28 ounces, with "Louisville Slugger / 125 / Powerized" in the center of the barrel and "Genuine O66 / Rod Carew (facsimile signature) / Louisville Slugger" near the end of the barrel. Barrel has been signed below this in blue ink, "Rod Carew Hit # 2,999 8/3/85." "29" is handwritten in black ink on the knob end.
Bio/Historical NoteBat used by Rod Carew of the California Angels to record his 2,999th career hit on August 3, 1985 against the Minnesota Twins at Anaheim. The Angels defeated the Twins, 5-4.
