DescriptionWhite polyester shirt, size 46, with navy blue pinstripes and six clear buttons down the front placket. Proper left front chest has "NY" in navy blue appliques. Proper left front shirttail has a manufacturer logo with "Jeter-96" in faded black lettering on a white label below. Proper right sleeve has a 1996 World Series patch. Proper left sleeve has a black stripe around the lower perimeter edge. Back side of the shirt has "2" appliqued in navy blue.
Bio/Historical NoteShirt worn by New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter during the 1996 World Series. The Yankees defeated the Atlanta Braves, four games to two, to win the 1996 World Series. Jeter was the 1996 American League Rookie of the Year. The black armband on the proper left sleeve was to honor Mel Allen, who died during the season.
