O'Malley is looking at Newcombe with smile while holding his cigar in his free hand. Newcombe has an excited smile as he shakes hands with O'Malley. O'Malley is dressed in a suit, whereas Newcombe is dressed in the Brooklyn Dodgers uniform but it is indistinguishable whether it is the home or road uniform. A caption is on the back of the photograph and states, "Walter O'Malley and Newcombe." Based on the caption this photograph was taken in October of 1955.
