DescriptionGray shirt, size 42, with seven gray buttons down the front placket and "Los Angeles" appliqued across the front chest in blue. "7" is appliqued in red underneath this. "7" is appliqued in blue on the reverse of the shirt. There is blue piping around the sleeve ends, neckline and down the front placket. Proper left front shirttail has a manufacturer label, "Dressen / 59" embroidered in blue thread and a small sizing tag.
Bio/Historical NoteThis shirt dates from when Charles "Chuck" Dressen served as a coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1959, who won the World Series that season. As a player, Dressen played third base for the Cincinnati Reds, save a brief stint with the New York Giants. After he retired as a player in 1933, Dressen went on to manage and coach several different teams, most famously the 1951-1953 Brooklyn Dodgers, a team that had many future Hall of Fame members on its roster.
