DescriptionNatural stain wooden bat, 32 ounces, with "R / Rawlings / Adirondack / Made in USA" in the center of the barrel and "Big Stick / Julio Franco / -Pro-" near the end of the barrel. There is a dark blue painted stripe around the perimeter of the taper directly to the left of the center trademark logo. Barrel has been signed in black ink, "Julio Franco / 4-20-06 at S.D. / 47 years 240 days / Oldest Player to Hit a home run." There is an MLB Authentication hologram sticker near the end of the barrel. Barrel end tip has "23" handwritten in black ink. Knob end has "23" and "33 J Franco" handwritten in black ink with "M456A / 55 06" inscribed in the center.
Bio/Historical NoteBat used by Julio Franco of the New York Mets, who played his first major league game in 1982, hit an eighth-inning pinch-hit home run against San Diego on April 20, 2006. At 47, Franco became the oldest player ever to hit a home run in the majors, breaking a mark set by Philadelphia Athletics pitcher Jack Quinn in 1930.
