DescriptionNatural stain wooden bat, 30.5 ounces, with "Rawlings / Adirondack" in the center of the barrel and "Big Stick / Ryne Sandberg / Cubs" near the end of the barrel. Knob end has "256B / 124 96" imprinted along with "Sandberg / 23" handwritten in black ink. There is a dark blue painted stripe around the taper near the center trademark logo. "23 / 256B" is handwritten in black ink on the barrel end tip.
Bio/Historical NoteBat used by Ryne Sandberg of the Chicago Cubs to hit his first home run on April 4, 1996 at Wrigley Field after coming out of retirement. The Cubs defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 9-4. Sandberg had retired on June 13, 1994 and spent 17 months away from the game before announcing he was coming out of retirement.
