Woman At Bat statue

DescriptionBronze statue of a woman in the motion of swinging a bat. The statue is wearing a tunic with three buttons down the left side, a circular design in the middle, a belt, and a long sleeve undershirt. The statue is wearing a hat with another circular design on it and has hair going down the back and partially onto the "5." On the left sleeve is an AAGPBL logo. Statue is also wearing spikes with socks and stirrups. On the end of the bat is a small sticker with "85" on it. The base of the statue has the artist's signature on it, "Stanley Bleifeld." The statue is on a 57 x 15 in. base. Next to the statue is a replica of a home plate in brown marble engraved "Woman At Bat / 2006 / Cast Bronze / by Stanley Bleifeld / In honor of the members of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League 1943-1954 / Made possible through a generous donation by Don and Chris Sanders / Houston, TX / May 14, 2006."
