DescriptionRectangular wooden plaque, vertically oriented, with three rectangular metal gold-colored placards on the front. The top placard has an attached black and yellow label reading "Roberto Clemente / (1934-1972) / (Pittsburgh Pirates 1954-1972) / This commemorative wax statue was presented to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum of Cooperstown by the Pittsburgh Jaycees and the people of the Greater Pittsburgh Area in July, 1973." The center largest placard has a color photograph attached showing four men wearing suits, two on either side of the wax statue of Roberto Clemente. They are posing within a stadium and there is seating in the background. Below this photograph is a black and yellow label listing the names of the men in the photograph. The bottom placard has a black and yellow label with a paragraph listing special acknowledgements. On the back side of the plaque is a wire for hanging or an inset opening for mounting.

Bio/Historical NotePlaque commemorating the manufacture of a life-size wax statue of Roberto Clemente after his death in 1972. The wax statue was presented to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and is part of its permanent collection.
