DescriptionWhite leather baseball with red stitching and blue stamps, including "Rawlings," "Official Major League Baseball" and a "2009 Inaugural Season" logo. Ball has been signed "Tom Seaver / HOF 92" on the sweet spot and "Mike Piazza / 31" on a side panel, both in black ink.

Bio/Historical NoteBall used as the first pitch thrown at the opening of the New York Mets' new stadium, Citi Field, on April 13, 2009. During the pre-game festivities, former Mets pitcher Tom Seaver threw a perfect strike to former Mets catcher Mike Piazza in the traditional first pitch ceremony. The Mets played against the San Diego Padres and lost 6-5.
