On one side panel is "August 4, 1985 / vs / Frank Viola / Anaheim Stadium" handwritten in black ink with "Hit 3000" handwritten in black ink on the sweet spot.
Bio/Historical NoteBaseball hit by Rod Carew of the California Angels for an opposite-field single on August 4, 1985. Carew became the first player to collect his 3,000th career hit as a member of an expansion club as well as the first member born in a foreign country.
