Fenway Park Green Monster fragment

DescriptionRectangular wooden block with beveled edges and Plexiglas on top covering a strip of green painted outfield wall. There is a metal nail in each corner holding the Plexiglas to the wooden block. Printed on the Plexiglas is the Boston Red Sox circular logo in the upper left corner with "Jimmy Fund" below. Along the bottom edge of the Plexiglas in white lettering, "Fenway Park 1976 â€“ 'Green Monster' / Authentic Piece of the Old Left Field Wall." Reverse of wooden block is blank.

Bio/Historical NoteMounted piece of Fenway Park's outfield wall, Green Monster, sold as a fundraiser for the Jimmy Fund in 1976. Founded in 1948, the Jimmy Fund raises funds to support adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts.
