Yankee Stadium Usher jacket

DescriptionRed wool jacket with a double breasted front, four white buttons and two faux front pockets with flaps. There is a round red, white and blue Yankees logo patch on the proper left front chest. Proper left sleeve has a small oval red stitched patch with white "163." Interior of the jacket is partially lined with maroon silk. There are two interior breast pockets. Reverse of the jacket is plain.
Bio/Historical NoteYankee Stadium usher Frank Gamble donned this uniform to welcome fans, help them to their seats, and serve as team ambassador. The lifelong baseball fan juggled three jobs, including usher, to support his wife and six children. Gamble wore this jacket during the 1970s, at the end of his 40-year career.
