Pete Frates glove

DescriptionBrown and black leather right-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and a thumb stall. There is a vertical piece of leather between the forefinger and thumb stall as webbing. This webbing is connected to the forefinger and thumb stalls with crisscross leather laces. Leather laces connect the tips of the finger stalls. Leather laces also line the palm side of the pinky stall, thumb stall and heel edge. Palm side has a "Wilson" stamp along the heel portion and "Pro-Stock Kip / A2002 K97" stamped on the thumb stall. Back side of the glove has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with a wrist strap which fastens with a knotted leather lace. There is an MLB logo at the base of the back side of the pinky stall along with "Japan AHO" stamped below. There is a black and gold manufacturer label on the wrist strap and a black and gold circular manufacturer logo at the base of the thumb stall on the back side. There is also a smaller black and gold circular manufacturer logo on the back side of the webbing. Back side of the ring finger is stamped "Super Skin / Dual-Welting / U.S. PAT.NO.5012529." "A2000" is embroidered in yellow lettering on the back side of the forefinger stall.

Bio/Historical NoteBaseball glove used by outfielder Pete Frates during his career as captain of the Boston College team. Pete wore this glove when BC won the Baseball Beanpot championship with a 10-2 win over Harvard University at Fenway Park on April 25, 2006. Pete hit a home run in the game and made a diving catch in the field.
