Don Mattingly Gold Glove award

DescriptionGold painted leather first baseman's mitt mounted to a wooden base with four metal rods inserted into the interior of the glove. The mitt has the Gold Glove Award logo in black lettering in the center of the mitt. On a gold metal plate attached to the base of the award is inscribed "1994 Rawlings Gold Glove Award / Presented to / Don Mattingly / Honoring His Selection As The Finest in the Field!" with a red "Rawlings" logo on either side of the inscription. Two gold "Rawlings" baseballs are supported by tripod, one on each side of the mitt. The base plate contains an etched photo image of Don Mattingly.

Bio/Historical NoteRawlings Gold Glove Award given to Don Mattingly in 1994 for his performance at first base with the New York Yankees that season. It was one of nine Gold Gloves he was awarded in his career.
