Ticker Tape machine
Dateundated
DescriptionRectangular beige ticker tape machine with power and transmission cords attached. Consists of a base and a lid, which can open at a hinge on the top back of the ticker. The lid is made of a top and three sides on the proper left, right, and front of the ticker, with a small plastic window on both sides of the front left corner to allow the user to see inside the ticker, and a "Trans-Lux Ticker" label on the front right of the lid. When the lid opens, it can lock into place with a two-barred hinge on the left side. On top of the base is a wheel of paper that sits on a spinning plate and runs an inch-wide strip of paper through a series of wheels and feeders to the printing mechanism, after which it comes out with the most recent sports information. There are two buttons in front of the printing mechanism: a white one for "POWER" and a red-orange one for "TAPE FEED." On top by the wheel of paper are two lights on a metal plate, one for "MARK" and one for "SPACE", indicating status of the line signal that transmits to the machine. The beige paint on the metal case of the machinery is chipping. The case lifts to allow access to the machinery underneath.
