DescriptionBlack plastic wire with a plug at one end, a coiled section in the middle and a metal clip at the opposite end. Extending from this end is a clear plastic coiled wire with an earpiece at the end. There is a small gray tag near the plug end reading "Syiniix" in black lettering.
Bio/Historical NoteEarpiece used by home plate umpire, Fred DeJesus in the New Britain Bees at Long Island Ducks game on July 25, 2019, the first regular season game that made use of a new Automated Ball-Strike System (ABS) implemented by the independent Atlantic League. The Atlantic League is in partnership with Major League Baseball to test new technology and rules, such as this.
