DescriptionRoyal blue plastic batting helmet, size 7 1/2, with a white "KC" decal on the front. Proper left side ear protector has been extended with an additional plastic piece bolted on with three silver-colored screws and "Flap" in raised lettering. Back side has "15" in blue and white decals with an MLB logo beneath and an MLB Authentication hologram sticker. Crown of the helmet has three six ventilation holes, three on each side in a row. Interior of the helmet is black with black vinyl-covered pads around the ear protector, sweatband, back of the head and top crown. Extended ear protector also has a gray pad at the inner bottom portion with a warning label in raised lettering above. There is a sizing sticker at the interior top crown as well as an MLB Authentication hologram sticker. There are manufacturer labels attached to the interior sweatband pad as well as some model information stamped into the pad at the back of the helmet.
Bio/Historical NoteBatting helmet worn by Whit Merrifield of the Kansas City Royals during the 2019 season. Merrifield recorded 206 hits, leading the majors for the second straight season.
