Bio/Historical NoteWristband worn by Jacob Nottingham on June 2, 2021 when MLB celebrated its inaugural “Lou Gehrig Day.” This special wristband was offered to be worn by all players in their team’s Lou Gehrig Day game. Nottingham, who has had a number of family members succumb to the disease, was quoted by MLB as follows: “ALS has touched my life negatively in so many ways. Six members of my family were taken much too early from this dreaded disease. I stand with other families across the globe in praying for a cure. Together, we can fight this and ultimately find that cure.”
