Letter from Ty Cobb to Bobby Doerr

DescriptionA letter from Ty Cobb to Bobby Doerr dated May 3, 1951 in which Cobb writes that he would be honored to autograph a bat for Doerr. He also writes about the bat he used when playing in the Major Leagues and tells Doerr that both he and Eddie Collins had predicted his success. Cobb included a copy of his booklet "Science of Batting" for Doerr's reading interest. Letter is handwritten in green ink on Tyrus R. Cobb letterhead and includes a postmarked envelope (not shown) addressed to Doerr.
