Letter from Ty Cobb to Alexander Cleland

DescriptionA handwritten letter from Ty Cobb to Alexander Cleland, April 29, 1939. The letter is written on Ty Cobb letterhead that reads "Tyrus R. Cobb, Box 394 D, Menlo Park, California." To the right is the date and below is the recipient's name and address of New York, N. Y. Cobb informs Cleland that he is sending a bat, which he located in Georgia, to Mr. Beattie, curator, Baseball Museum. He writes it had been misplaced in moving which is why it was not sent along with other material. It is signed "Respectfully, Ty Cobb." The verso (not shown) is blank.
