DescriptionA letter dated November 26, 1951 from Ty Cobb to "Stoney" [unknown] about the difficulty of receiving mail while traveling. Cobb also sends a release for some articles. The letter is two pages and handwritten on Tyrus R. Cobb letterhead in blue ink instead of Cobb's customary green ink.

Trannscription48 Spencer Lane, Atherton / Menlo Park, California / 11/26/51 / Dear "Stoney": - / I have been away off and on for three weeks, your other letter was sent to Glenbrook, Nev. and only the other day sent to me here. Glenbrook is only a summer place, (Hotel) I live fairly close during summer. I think they get mail two times a week after Oct. 1st and they have instructions to hold my mail and send down in one package hence delay in yours reaching me here, your last letter received yesterday. Enclosed find signed release and you are not to send me any part of the amount you receive. / Am wondering if you cannot hold back some material and make two stories and two fees. I am all tied up and not supposed to sign away anything unless submitted for others O.K. but you are different, I gave you consent long ago. / I have had many offers for story of life etc. also several for picture, (Hollywood), have turned them down because they would want to make me appear as an ogre / and I wont subscribe to anything not true just to add something sensational and controversial for those jew picture guys. / Just noted from your letter you wrote me as of Nov 7th, I was in Twin Falls Idaho hunting for 2 weeks. / I am feeling fine but am a little heavy in weight and now on a reduction basis to take off 12 lbs. / Frances is fine, we have a great life out here, we both send best to Mrs. and yourself. / I am, as ever / Ty / (Transcription created by virtual volunteers during the 2020 pandemic).
