Fox, right, is captured with his hands resting on his hips and looking over his left shoulder. Chewing tobacco is visible in Fox's left cheek. Fox is dressed in a Chicago White Sox road uniform. Yankee Stadium is visible in the background. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "White Sox infielder Nellie Fox (right) nonchalantly chews on on a wad of tobacco as he stands on first base after getting his 2,000th major league hit in the first inning of the first game of the New York-Chicago doubleheader, here July 24th, covering the base is Yankees first baseman Moose Skowron. Chicago won the first game, 6-3." Based on the caption, this photograph was taken on July 24, 1960.
