DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox captured jumping up and about to release the ball in his right hand from second base. His left arm is extended out in front of him. Luis Aparicio is squatting down watching Fox and has a smile on his face. An unidentified stadium is in the background. Fox and Aparicio are dressed in a Chicago White Sox home uniform. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Foxy Play - Nellie Fox, veteran second baseman of the White Sox, demonstrates fielding form for benefit of rookie Luis Aparicio during Tampa, Fla. drill yesterday. Aparicio is being groomed to replace the traded Chico Carrasquel at shortstop." Based on Fox and Aparicio's uniforms and their time with the White Sox, this photograph was taken in approximately 1956.
