With all the state democratic leaders present except Al Smith and his followers, a luncheon given by Postmaster General James A. Farley Jan. 8 at the Biltmore in New York City opened the boom to make assistant atty. Gen. Robert H. Jackson Governor of New York. Photo shows: Left to right, Con Casey, Troy, democratic leader in Rensselaer County; John J. Evers, former baseball star, at the Hotel Commodore, before attending the Andrew Jackson dinner, also held Jan. 8. NY 1/8/38."
