DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of, from left to right, Mel Ott, Johnny Mize, and Willard Marshall captured standing in the New York Giants Polo Grounds' dugout. Ott has a smile on his face as he holds up a baseball bat against his right shoulder. Mize, also smiling, is holding up two baseball bats and has one resting against each shoulder. Marshall has a small smile as he holds a baseball bat against his left shoulder. All three gentlemen are dressed in New York Giants home uniforms An unidentified New York Giants player and a man in a suit are seated on the dugout bench in the background. Two unidentified gentlemen are visible in the background in the stands. Based on Ott, Mize, and Marshall's uniforms, their respective time with the Giants, and a date stamp on the reverse (not shown), this photograph was probably taken in 1942.
