Tris Speaker Standing in Uniform photograph

Datecirca 1925 May
DescriptionA black-and-white half-length photograph of Tris Speaker standing in uniform, holding a baby alligator. Speaker, shown from the waist up, wears a Cleveland Indians road uniform. Standing, facing the camera, Speaker smiles while looking forward, directing his gaze to a point to the left of the camera. Standing with his left hand on his left hip, Speaker holds, waist height, a baby alligator in his right hand. Based on the included background this photograph, it was captured out of doors. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in purple ink, is the date "MAY 1925," the probable creation date of this image. Stamped as well on the reverse (not shown), in blue ink, are the phrases, "LAST TIME USED APR 14 1937 EDITION - 2," and, "JOHN L. MORRIS FROM LAKELAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LAKELAND, FLORIDA."
