DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox captured walking out of a stadium with a bandage over his left eye. Fox has his left hand on his hip and is holding what appears to be gauze in his right hand. Fox is dressed in a Chicago White Sox road uniform. Several unidentified gentlemen are in the background. The caption on the reverse of the photograph (not shown) states, "His eye bandaged, Nelson Fox prepares to leave Stadium after being struck by foul tip above his left eye in batting practice. He may be lost for three weeks." Based on Fox's uniform, the date on the reverse (also not shown), and his time with the White Sox, this photograph was taken in approximately 1952.
