DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox captured playing with his wife and children. Fox is smiling while giving his young daughter, Tracy, a ride on his back as he crawls around the living room. Fox's other daughter, Bonnie, is looking on and holding her little sister's hand. Mrs. Fox is captured smiling and kneeling beside Fox and helping to keep Tracy safe from falling. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Nelson Fox, family man-second baseman, spends day off at home here, June 10th, entertaining his family. Fox, a leading White Sox hitter with a .362 average, takes daughter Tracie, 7-months, for a ride around the house as his wife and daughter Bonnie, 8, keep Tracie balanced. League-leading Sox take on second place Yankees here, June 11th in the first game of a three game series." Another caption on the back of the photograph (also not shown) states, "Nelson Fox, White Sox second baseman, takes baby daughter, Tracie, seven months old, for a ride around the house as wife and daughter, Bonnie, eight, keep youngster balanced." Based on the caption, this photograph was taken on June 10, 1957.
