DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Satchel Paige and Lefty Gomez. Paige is wearing a Monarchs uniform and is in a windup. Gomez stands next to him in a suit, chatting. There are two image captions on the reverse (not shown). The first reads, "Lefty Gomez, with Satchel Paige. Lefty remembers when Paige threw only two deliveries-'hard and harder.'" The second reads, "Satchel Paige had been majors' material for probably two decades before he belatedly got his chance with Cleveland in 1948. He's shown in uniform of the Kansas City Monarchs with whom he long trouped."
