DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Roger Maris of the New York Yankees sliding into second base while Ed Howser of the Kansas City Athletics tries to stay upright during a spring training game in March 1961. A newspaper clipping on the back reads, "A's Ed Howser is unable to get off throw to first as he's taken out by Roger Maris' slide yesterday. Athletics scored three times in 10th inning to defeat Yanks, 5-2."
