Mack is shaking hands with the Mayor and holding a scroll in his left hand. A caption for an additional copy of the image states (not shown), "New York, Aug. 19- New York Goes to Bat to Honor Connie Mack-Baseball's 86-year-old patriarch, Connie Mack, holds scroll of distinguished service bestowed upon him by New York City as he is welcomed at city hall today by Mayor William O'Dwyer.
