DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Vice President Alben Barkley captured as he signs a scroll that is to be presented to Connie Mack. The scroll features a drawing of Mack. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the front of the photograph (not shown) and states, "4/13-Washington:Vice president Alben W. Barkley (above) is the second person to sign a scroll that will be presented to Connie Mack, manager of the Philadelphia Athletics at the opening game of season here April 18. It has already been signed by President Truman." Based on the newspaper clipping and additional information on the reverse (not shown) this photograph was taken on April 13, 1950.
