This photograph was taken before Mack threw the first pitch to begin the game between the Kansas City Athletics and the Pittsburgh Pirates. All three gentlemen are smiling and Mack holds up the baseball in his right hand. Boudreau is dressed in the Kansas City Athletics road uniform. Haney is dressed in the Pittsburgh Pirates home uniform. A caption below the image (not shown) states, "3/11/55-Ft. Meyers Fla. Connie Mack, center, about to throw out the first ball to start the Kansas City A's - Pittsburgh-Pirates game here 3/10. Lou Boudreau, A's manager, left, and Fred Haney, Pirates manager, right." Based on the caption this photograph was taken on March 10, 1955.
