The left features Mack and Landis at game one of the 1936 World Series. Both gentlemen are dressed in suits and are looking out onto the baseball field. Mack holds a paper in his hands. To the right, Mack and O'Day, both wearing suits and hats, are captured looking straight ahead with serious expressions on their faces. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "Connie with Landis and Old Battery Mate Connie Mack, who died Feb. 8 at 93, is shown, photo left, with the late Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis, baseball's high commissioner, at the opening game of the 1936 world series between the Giant and Yankees at the Polo Grounds in New York City. At right, Connie is shown, left, with his old battery mate, Hank O'Day, as they met in 1914. They played for the Washington team in 1886." The photograph on the left was taken on September 30, 1936, and the photograph on the right was taken in approximately 1914. The creation date of this photograph is based on the included caption. This image exists in a similar form as BL-1507-68.
