The unidentified men standing with Mack are former baseball players who gathered to help Mack celebrate. On the table in front of Mack is a birthday cake. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "Connie Mack's 75th Birthday Party Connie Mack, the grand old man of baseball, is congratulated by Jimmy Dykes, manager of the Chicago White Sox, at Mack's 75th birthday party in Philadelphia, PA., Dec. 23rd. Old timers of baseball stand in the background. The tall, wiry manager of the Philadelphia Athletics appeared hale and hearty despite the fact that he is recovering from a stomach ailment."
