DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Connie Mack captured standing at the edge of the dugout with fellow Philadelphia Athletics members. They are, from left to right, Earle Mack, Earle Brucker, Al Simmons and Jimmy Dykes. All of the gentlemen are looking out onto the baseball field and have straight faces. Everyone except for Mack are dressed in a Philadelphia Athletics uniform. Baseball fans are visible in the stadium seating in the background. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "Guiding Athletics Clearwater, Fla.: Manager Connie Mack of the Philadelphia Athletics maps the plans for spring training in Clearwater. Left to right are Earl Mack, assistant manager; Earle Brucker, senior coach; Connie Mack; Al Simmons, coach, and Jimmy Dykes, coach.3-6-49." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on March 6, 1949.
